Summer Nail Art Designs

Just to start off this blog post today with WOW I can't believe I have hit 100 page views! That is incredible, and thank you everyone who has read it! I know 100 seems like a small number compared to other blogs, but just imagine 100 people standing in front of you, then you will realise just how many that is! :)

Today I will be showing you simple nail art designs that are perfect for Summer and are so on trend!  2013 is full of bright neon colours, pastel colours and cute quirky designs! I will show 3 different designs, one that is for beginners, the next one is a little more harder and the last is an advanced one (well one that I would find advanced!)

The first trend is neon designs, here are some of my favourite ones to do that you can re-create at home :)

This simple nail art design means you can paint your nail in any bright neon colour and then around the bottom add in a grey, white, silver or black bottom tip design. It is really easy to do, and looks cute for Summer!

This tiger print design means you will need more than 2 colours and more  than likely you will need  some sort of nail art design brush tool or you could even try using a toothpick or a cotton bud if you don't have any design brushes!
This design is for the advanced nail artists among us. It is called a Water Marble Effect  and once you get the hang of how to do it, it is relatively easy (yet incredibly messy!) I will post a YouTube which I learnt from in the next blog post! :)

The next trend I have been loving recently is Pastels, there are so many cute, quirky designs you can create using pastel colours, and even just a plain pastel colour on its own looks super cute! So here are my top three for pastel nails :)

Here are a few examples of pastel nail polishes. I think they look so cool for Summer time, the pale colours blend in with the sun. As you can see here just a plain pastel colour on your nail looks so girly and nice!

This design is a little more quirky as it has an element of design in it. I like the contrast of 2 pastel colours on the one nail as it adds more dimension to the nail design, also the introduction of the silver glitter to separate them makes it more cute and pretty. The bow can be optional depending on whether or not you had nail accessories  but they are easy to find in nail stands or online!

This more advanced design sees the addition of again having to using design tools, for this design you will need a detail brush and a dotting tool, again you can use a toothpick or cotton bud if you want to. There are tutorial videos out there to show you how to do the floral design. I really like the vintage look these nails bring and I think they are perfect for summer!

The next trend that I like to wear on my nails is quirky, fun designs such as cows, mustaches and even minnie mouse! Just search the internet for quirky nail designs and you can pretty much get anything you could want to put on your nails! Here are a few of my favourite! :D

Cute cupcake nails!

Cow print nails!

Minnie Mouse nails :)

Mustache and spots nails!

Cute owl nails!

I hope you enjoyed this post on different designs to try on your nails. Whether they are long or short nails, just get creative with it and have fun! :D

Lots of love xo.

10 Things to do in the Summer

Hello again everyone,

So as it is now officially Summer and many are off on their school holidays I thought that it would be fun to do my top 10 things to do in Summer, and if you are bored someday you can read them and be inspired to do one of them :)

Ok so number 1;

There is nothing I love more than when it is sunny and you can just gather a few friends to your house and just hang out all day and do fun stuff. For example, hire a bouncy castle? Club together and buy some water guns, a water slide or even a pool? There is nothing better than running around the garden in a pair of shorts or a bikini chasing people with a water gun!! Then perhaps later you can have a BBQ or if your older a few drinks? ;)
You will have endless hours of fun!! Highly recommended!

Number 2;

If you don't live near the seaside then why not pack a car full of people and head to the nearest beach? Again you can have a BBQ or a picnic, you can play beach volleyball  go swimming? Again there are endless hours of fun to have at the beach!

Number 3;

Go into a forest, a field or even your garden and just spend the night in a tent? A campfire, toasting marshmallows and someone can bring a guitar and you can have a sing song out in nature? Just make sure whatever forest or field you go into it safe and you have the owners permission!! You don't want to wake up to a field of cows in the morning!

Number 4;

If you live in the city or near one, find out what activities will be happening during Summer, there could be a music festival, a community fun day or anything else. If you don't try and find out you will never know! I know that where I live there are always endless amounts of festivals and fun days, how could you ever be bored?

Number 5;

If it is raining then there are always fun things to do indoors too! You could go swimming, bowling, to the cinema or to a shopping centre! Call up a few friends and spend the day together, again doing lots of fun things that you can all enjoy. Afterwards you can go for a meal somewhere :)

Number 6;

Tidy out your bedroom! As boring as it may sound, once you get into it, it can be rather fun! Just give it a big dung out and you never know what you might find! Old photos, something you had lost for ages. Turn your music up full and just get into it! If the room is too much for you then start small and clear out your wardrobe! As it is summer, you will want to bring out your summer clothes and put away your old winter clothes! Whichever one you do, it will waste a day and you will keep yourself busy all day! I know I do when I clear out my room!!

Number 7;

Bake something, a cake, buns, cookies. Whatever you are in the mood for! There are loads of websites and recipe books out there, you will be spoiled for choice! If you're in the mood for gooey chocolate sponge cake or a healthy peanut butter cupcake then you will find a recipe somewhere!

Number 8;

Go for a walk. If it is a nice day just go outside and walk somewhere (make sure you know where you are going!) You can do this no matter where you live! If you live in the country just walk (safely) along the roads and take in all the beautiful scenery. If you live in the city just walk around it, there will always be something interesting to see in the city! If you live on the seaside, walk along the beach! Just get some fresh air!

Number 9;

If you are talented, write a song! or a story, or a poem! If you go for the song you could always record yourself singing it, or singing any song and put it on Youtube or Soundcloud if you don't want to be seen! You could search for different talent shows to take part in if you sing or play an instrument, or if you prefer drama and acting you could search for local auditions and get involved in them. Even if you live in a community area, you could find out of any summer kids clubs where they might need volunteers to help out and you could volunteer?

Number 10;

Start your own blog! I may be bias but it is so much fun! Just write about whatever you want! The topics are endless!!

Whatever you do this summer, please stay safe and enjoy yourself!

Till next time... xo
