How To - Natural Waves

Hello again!

So I have decided to start a little series on this blog called 'How To' (How to..create original series names YAY!) haha anyway it's the only name I could think of to call it, but basically I am going to be doing little tutorials on how to do stuff, simple! :D I will make the steps as basic and easy to follow as I can, so lets get started :D

This is how to get natural waves without using heat.. :D

Step 1; You need to wash your hair the night before that you want your waves for (if that makes sense) so say I wanted my hair wavy for Wednesday I would wash it on the Tuesday night.. I use 'Alberto balsam' shampoo and conditioner to wash my hair. These come in loads of different scents but my favourite is the mandarin and papaya shampoo (which is a citrus orange scent) and the coconut conditioner (which is the most heavenly coconut scent ever!)

Step 2; You need to only towel dry your hair, do not use a hairdryer as the waves will be less effective.

Step 3: You need to do 2 french plaits in your hair, if you can't do it, get someone else to do it for you. Sometimes people need more than 2 plaits (it's a trail and error type process) for me 2 works but my sister does 3 as she has thicker hair than I do. So you french plait your hair when it is wet/damp and sleep in it overnight. It seriously isn't that uncomfortable!

Step 4; In the morning, take out your plaits and taadaah! You have nice, natural looking waves! :D Use whatever you use to style it, mousse, salt spray or whatever you use and then add a touch of hairspray all over to keep the waves in place all day! :D

As you can see, I wear this look to school as it is easy to do and not much hassle in the morning! (I'm not a morning person! So it is easier for me to do my hair before bed!) You could also dress this look up and wear it on a night out by adding a plait in the side of your head.

I hope you enjoyed this easy tutorial to wavy hair, and if you would like more of these 'How To's ' then leave a comment telling me what you want to know how to do and I will try my best to do it. :D

Lawson Concert :D

Hello again! :)

So this post has been a long time coming, but I went to see Lawson 2 weeks ago (20/10/13) at the Ulster Hall in Belfast and honestly it was an AMAZING concert! They were just as I expected them to be..this was my 3rd time seeing them, but my 1st time seeing them at their own headline tour! :D I thought I would share the experience with you all, it is just too good to not! ;)
So first off, this is what I wore to the concert. I thought it wasn't too dressy and the plimsolls added a touch of casual to the overall finish of the outfit :)
Daisy print top; New Look, Pinafore dress; River Island, Red plimsolls; Primark
For my make up I went fairly simple, with a bold lip. I wanted to keep it relatively easy as I was going to be standing in a queue for a long time so I didn't want to be checking to fix my make up a lot.

Lipstick; Revlon Lip Butter -Candy Apple
 Me and my sister got to the venue at around half 6, and the doors opened at 7pm. The queue was HUGE since it was a standing concert, however we were seated so when we got to a corner the security man said that we could go straight to the front as we had seats (wasted time in the queue!) Anyway we skipped to the front and got in OK. We got to the merch stand and my sister bought a t-shirt. Then we made our way to our seats. As it was our first time in this venue we had a little bit of trouble finding our seats and it didn't help that the doors were unmarked so we didn't know if we were at the right place or not! After about 10 minutes wandering the halls we found our door and we were seated at around 7:40pm.

The first support act came on and it was Paighton (who, in all honesty, I had never heard of! :S ) however, their songs were still catchy and I liked them a lot.

This is Paighton, sorry I don't know their names! :/
 After Paighton performed there was about 10 minute break and then Room 94 came on as the next support act. I actually really love Room 94 (not because I fancy the drummer or anything.. ;) haha ) but I have loved them since before this, but now after seeing them live I realised that they are amazing!! They were so chilled and very funny! It was an amazing atmosphere and they really got the crowd going :)

Left to right - Sean, Dean, Kieran and Kit
Yeah..I do not fancy him... ;P

 They did their set (which included Kiss You by One Direction!) and then at around 9:20pm Lawson came on!! I think my heart jumped out of my body as soon as I saw them..they are seriously perfect!! :D

I was lucky enough to be able to see behind the curtain before it dropped and got a sneak peak at them before anyone else ;) oh yeah! :P
When they began to sing I was in awe. I couldn't believe how good they were. Although I had seen them before, I was more aware of their talent this time for some reason? The set list was as follows (and if I forget something I am sorry but this is from memory!) ;

  • Juliet
  • Make It Happen
  • Taking Over Me
  • Gone
  • Love Locked Out (new song)
  • Die For You
  • Learn To Love Again
  • Parachute (new song)
  • The Girl I Knew (sang by Andy, acoustically)
  • Stolen (and Waterfall, acoustically)
  • When She Was Mine
  • This Is What It Feels Like (Cover)
  • Brokenhearted
  • Everywhere You Go
  • Standing In The Dark
Now that I have said how flipping amazing the show was, here are some pictures;

Adam (who is my fave..)

Andy

Ryan
Joel

He is gorgeous!

Great face Joel..

Andy in the crowd!

I don't know why I love this picture..?

The end :(
 Now for the best part of the night..and probably the best part of MY EXISTENCE...I CAUGHT ANDY BROWN'S GUITAR PICK!!!!

Ok so here is how it happened..

The concert was over, Adam was throwing his drum sticks into the standing area, Joel and Ryan were also throwing their guitar picks to the standers. Me and my sister just said to each other 'aww we aren't gonna get anything' so we stand up and just as we do, Andy looks up to our balcony area and we all scream and wave. He looks up to me and my sister and throws something towards us. Everyone starts getting up and looking for whatever he threw, when I look to my sisters feet and there it was...HIS GUITAR PICK! It was like fate we were meant to get it! I picked up and started jumping up and down and waving it about! (I probably looked like a crazy person!) but in that moment I didn't care! I looked to the stage and Joel was looking up to me as I was screaming my head off and I waved the pick at him and he laughed and gave me a thumbs up!! :D I ran out to my car and cried (a little bit..) and that was the end of my night!

Here is the signed guitar pick in MY HAND!

How beautiful is that..I have Andy Browns DNA..I could clone him (if I knew how..)

The concert is right up there as one of the best I ever been to (and that has been a lot!) Here is a link to my Youtube where you can see the videos that I took of the concert ;

Thank you for reading and if you have any cool concert stories, leave a comment I would love to read them! :D

September Favourites

Hey everyone :D

So in July I did a favourites post, but then completely forgot in August! Sorry about that but I promise that now I will begin to do these every month (*crosses fingers behind back*) I am really no good with promises like this! haha

Anyway getting into my September favourites :D

Make Up product -

This month I have been loving the Revlon Lip Butters..if you can't already tell that from all my make up posts they always feature in them! haha The one colour I have been loving in September is Candy Apple. It is a gorgeous red shade, not too sheer and really moisturising! I think that the colour is perfect for the transition between summer and autumn :)

Skin Care Product -

I heard from a friend and with research on the internet that Bio Oil is good for clearing scars and blemishes from spots and breakouts. I have a lot of scarring on my face because as I 13 year old hormonal girl I wanted the quickest solution of getting rid of spots so I picked them (boke!) Now I surely regret it as I am left with red scars on my face. I bought the medium bottle of bio oil and have been using it since August, applying only a pea sized amount to the scars with my finger. So far it has cleared up some of the lighter scars that I had but no major differences to the old, deep ones yet. It says it should take around 3 months so when the 3 months is up I will do a review? :D But I love the consistency of it as it dries in pretty quickly. I use it morning and night. My only negative is the smell..its really sickening! :( but so far so good :)

Hair Product -

This month I have been going with the 'Au Natural' look with my hair, and although it looks like I have been dragged thorugh a bush backwards and have been through a zombie apocolips it is just so much more easier and weraable to school. To style it I have been using the Schwarzkopf got2b beach matte texturising spray. I picked this up in Superdrug for only £2.70 which I thought was a really good price. I had been looking for a good salt spray for ages and I am really fond of this one as it leaves your hair looking really natural and wavy and it doesn't look all stiff and like it has been styled.

Perfume-

This month my perfume that I have been wearing basically every single day is Taylor by Taylor Swift. I find that all her fragrances are so invigorating and amazing! It smells like flowers and sweet scented things, I don't know why but I just image that it is Taylor's natural scent..is that weird? Yes Lisa that is weird. Anyway..moving.. *shifty eyes* the bottle for the fragrance is so darn cute! It looks kinda retro but yet still so modern and classy at the same time (again just like her.) If you can't tell by now I am obsessed with Taylor, it's not even healthy.

As you can see the detailing and nicky picky bits are amazing. The pearls long the top just give it that added big of vintage! The glass bottle and top looks really sophisticated and so classy. And if I can direct your eyeballs to the box Taylor looks stunning..almost like a pirate I don't know why I get that image. However away from that back to the perfume, I believe it is her most sophisticated scent and bottle yet, you can really see her personality in it and the love that was put into making it. Great job Taylor, I love you... wow that escalated quickly!

Music-
This month has been a month for going back and forth between different artists and bands and to be honest I can't pin point one person who I have listened to excessively more than the other, however the song that has been stuck in my brain all month and just won't leave is Tich Obsession. It is such a catchy song, and for some scary reason it is very relateable (maybe it's to do with my obsession of boybands..who knows!) Either way the song is so good and you need to listen to it, or maybe don't or it will get stuck in your brain as much as it did in mine! haha! Tich is also gorgeous and I heard about her from Olly Murs as she was supporting him on tour but she didn't come to the place where I was seeing him so they played her on the big screen and she was so captivating and her songs are so good!! :D

Random-

Ok, so by now I think we have all established that I am a pretty rare kinda girl, so this month my random love has been Bourbon Chocolate biscuits. I used to eat these ALL the time as a child at my Granny's house and have only just rediscovered them. They are just the perfect dunking biscuit in a cup of tea and to top it off they are chocolate..what more could you want!

I won't go into to it any further because well just go try them and you won't be disappointed :P

Until next month, au revoir mes amies ..

What's In My Make Up Bag- School Edition

Hello my lovelies!

So in my last post, I mentioned that I wasn't allowed to wear make up to school because my school doesn't care about girls and their feelings and their confidence! Hey maybe that could be another post? Lisa rants? haha let me know ;)

So anyway, I did mention that I was a rebel because I wear make up to school, however I have to do the lightest coverage a girl can do..seriously its ridiculous!!
With that being said here is my make up bag that I carry in my school bag. It is the perfect size, however if I was to change one thing it would be that it wouldn't be so structured so I can fit and shape things around in it! haha but I love the print on it. I don't know where it is from as it was a Christmas gift from someone but I use it daily and LOVE it! :D

The first thing that I ALWAYS need with me is some form of hand sanitizer or hand lotion because, girl, my school is like the breeding grounds of germs and bacteria so I always got to have this with me. This one is from Poundland..classy, I know! ;) but nothing wrong with Poundland..I buy them in bulk! This one below is nearly done so I gotta get another one. The smell isn't too appetizing but if it does the job I am happy :)

Instead of covering my face in foundation (because apparently that is 'too much for school, young lady') I opt to wear concealer on the areas that I need it i.e spots, blemishes etc. This one is quite a good coverage and I usually have to blend together the 1st and middle shades to get my match. I just use my fingers to apply it as it is a creamy texture and its just easier to spread that way. The end colour is a highlighter so I don't use it for school. This palette is from MUA and it is the Pro Base concealer palette.

So that the concealer lasts all day on my face I use this setting powder from Rimmel, its the famous Stay Matte powder in 'Peach Glow' Everyone I know uses this because it really is the best powder out there that keeps your face matte all day and for only £4 its a good deal :) I tend to go for the 'peach glow' one and not the translucent one because firstly I want to not look like a ghost around school and I think that the translucent one looks better over foundation and not on its own because really whats it gonna do?

Anyway, to apply this I take with me the Multi Task Brush from Real Techniques. It fits nicely into this bag and although it takes up some room it really is the best brush to apply the powder. The brush is really soft and only applies a light coverage on your face so you aren't caked in powder which I like.

On my lips I can't wear any coloured lip gloss or lipstick God forbid cause that will just ruin your education! Instead I have to use a lip balm or Vaseline. I like this lip balm by Jack Wills. Its raspberry flavoured so it tastes really good..not that I have tried to eat it or anything! haha This has lasted me quite a long time and the flavour is still there so it is really good quality  Its also small so its easy to carry around in my blazer if I want it off hand instead of hoaking through my bag :)

Lastly is mascara. Now this one is trickier to get away with because it is the
most one that we are not allowed. In the rules it says, and I quote:

"No heavy eye make up is to be worn to school, this includes mascara, eyeliner, false eyelashes and any other type of eye product (girls)"
It is honestly ridiculous, so when I wear mascara I tell them that my eyelashes are tinted or else 'that's all natural Miss!' (I am so bad...)
I lightly put on this one by Max factor  its in a little sample size bottle so it is easier to carry around. The application is easy and not too heavy so I can get away with it..most of the time.

I hope you can now all see what I meant by having a strict school and not being allowed make up. But what is a girl do!? I need make up and if they don't like it well then tough luck! :P

Until next time..thanks for reading :D

September Make Up And Outfit Looks

Hello everyone!!

I feel as though every time I come on to write a new post I always have to apologize as to why I haven't posted in FOREVER! But this time I have some legitimate excuses; I have been busy getting settled back into school and trying to work around homework and other things to try find the time to write, also as it is my last year of school (SCARY!) I have had to take up after school things to make me look half decent to the universities I will be applying to! Also with applying to Uni comes with having to write a personal statement and look for 5 courses that I want to apply to within the next month so I have been super busy and super stressed! However tonight, I find myself at a loss, I have done all my homework, looked at all my courses and I am waiting to get my first personal statement draft back so I thought 'Hey, lets blog!'

Along with all the above, I have been busy taking pictures for various posts that I have up my sleeve that will be coming your way very soon...well eventually!

Lets get into this one though shall we? :)

Today's post will be "Outfits and Make up looks" These are three looks that I have wore quite a lot recently as it is a new season and I have been trying to mix up my make up looks this month!

This first one I wore to see One Direction -This Is Us and OK I just have to say this BEST MOVIE EVER! I think I was the oldest in the cinema but I really couldn't care less as it was SO worth it! I think it may even be possible that I love them a little bit more? But hey, I'm not complaining it was amazing! And the 3D was like out of this world! *shocked face* I seriously would go back and watch it a million times (maybe a bit exaggerated..OK 100) as it was that good..if you haven't seen it yet GO RIGHT NOW!

OK so with that being said, here is my outfit;

I am wearing;Blouse - New Look, Scarf- River Island, Jeans-Next

I kept my make up look simple as I didn't want to look too overly done for only going to the cinema (although in my mind I wanted One Direction to turn up haha!) So here is my make up look;

Lips: Revlon Lip Butter-Cotton Candy

 Then for accessories, again I kept it quite plain and simple;

Earrings; New Look

Bracelets; New Look

Thumb ring; River Island

Ring- Topshop

 After seeing the One Direction movie on the Sunday, my week only had to go downhill as I started back at school after an amazing 3 months of Summer holidays! At my school we are not allowed to wear any make up, however with the rebel inside of me I get away with light concealer and foundation and just a smidgen of mascara..and Vaseline  haha Here it is, me with the least amount of make up I could afford to put on.

Also this is my hideous school uniform..ugh.

This next look is one I wore quite often throughout September, just if I was going out with friends or shopping or something like that, it was a quick look to put together and its really nice with the bold lip colour :) There is no outfit for this look as I didn't specifically wear it only one time, I wore it A LOT! :L

I am totes in love with this flower crown I got from Primark for only £2 what a bargain!! :D  I wear it all the time although I do get funny looks! :( haha

Lips- Rimmel Apocolips 'Apocalyptic'

Eyes- MUA 'Undressed' palette, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Finally, this week my town had a kind of music night in the main street. This was held at night time, I have no idea why but it was. So I dressed casual and comfy as I was going to be walking around in the freezing cold all night! Here is my outfit below;

Cardigan; Next, Shirt; River Island, Leggings; New Look
(excuse my messy room!)

Socks; Topshop, Shoes; Primark

For my hair I wanted something that looked a little bit dressy but still easy to manage on such a cold, windy night so I opted for a huge bun on my head. I used a medium sized doughnut ring and tied my hair into a high pony tail and then fixed it in place around the doughnut. I firstly thought I wouldn't have enough hair to fit around it but surprisingly I did! Shocker.

For my make up, I wanted my eyes to have a bit of shimmer to them because it was a night out and well I would be meeting into people so I wanted to look half decent! Here is my make up look for the night;

Eyes- MUA eye shadow primer, MUA 'Undressed' palette, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Foundation; Max factor 3 in 1 all day flawless, Blush; MUA 'Cupcake' Lips; Revlon Lip Butter 'Candy Apple', Powder; Rimmel Stay Matte 'Peach Glow', Concealer; MUA Pro Base palette & Rimmel Wake me Up concealer True Ivory'

I hope you enjoyed these different make up looks, I sure enjoyed wearing them throughout this month! :D

Look out for my 'September Favourites' next week and if you want to see a One Direction 'Our Moment' perfume review then please comment :D
