Recent Favourites

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! :)

I normally do monthly favourite posts, but this month I have been loving SO much and I just couldn't wait to the end of the month to share them all with you so I thought I would just do a random favourites post now and then at the end of the month I'll do another one :)

My first favourite is a nail polish. Barry M is by far my favourite brand to buy my nail polishes from. They are super long lasting and the formula is incredible! :) The colour I have been loving is called Sugar Apple and is a gorgeous mint green colour, perfect for the start of Summer! Mint green has been my go to colour recently and I love anything that colour so this nail polish is perfect for me and I have worn it practically for this whole month (and will probably continue to do so throughout the summer!)

The book 'The Fault In Our Stars' has by far been my number 1 book! I read this last summer as well and fell in love with it and with the movie coming out I thought that I should refresh my memory (or ruin my emotions after only recovering from reading it the last time!) and so I re-read it before going to see the movie (which I see tonight!) and I can honestly say it still made me cry the second time round which to me shows how good of a book it actually is. If you haven't read or heard of this book then firstly where have you been recently and secondly GO BUY IT that is an order from me to you because it is so good and heart wrenching and beautiful :)

I am a lover of lip products and when I saw a lot of people recommending this particular lip balm I just had to try it! I'm a bit late on the band wagon but better late than never I suppose! Anyway, this lip butter by Nivea is my new favourite lip balm to put on for just lazy, around the house days and I also put some on before putting on a bright lipstick. It is really moisturising and rich on the lips and makes them really soft and smooth. Also the flavour is incredible and I could honestly just smell the tin all day..

On the topic of me loving lip products, another one the I have just discovered I am obsessed with is the Revlon Colorburst matte lip balms. I only have this one in the colour 'Showy' which is a beautiful bright pink colour. It really is quite bright but honestly with the right make up look it's easy to pull it off. if I can you can too! I will definitely be buying more colours in this product as it is so long lasting and the price, £7.99 isn't too bad considering how amazing the product is! :) I got mine at Boots; http://www.boots.com/en/Revlon-ColorBurst-8482-Matte-Balm_1416281/ (however you can get them at Superdrug, Feel Unique and any other stockists of Revlon)

My last current favourite is a piece of jewelry which has been on trend recently and at first I wasn't really a lover of them but then I found this one from Miss Selfridge and fell in love with how cute it was! I love flowers and the little beads in the middle of each flower really sets it off. The coral pink colour is really nice and matches a lot of my clothes, however there was other colour options and I think I will have to go back and get more of the colours!

I got this choker from the Miss Selfridge shop, and it is also available on their website;http://www.missselfridge.com/en/msuk/product/accessories-299050/jewellery-1917538/necklaces-299214/coral-flower-choker-2920445?refinements=category~%5b267536%7c267535%5d&bi=1&ps=40

That has been most of my current favourites this month, there has been way more but I'll save them for the end of the month! :)

Hope you enjoyed, leave a comment telling me your favourites of the month and I'll more than likely try them out!!

Until next time, Lisa xx

Make Up Look - Birthday Party Meal

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well :)

It was one of my friends 18th Birthday last week and so I decided to show you my make up look for the night. We only went out for a meal to a restaurant and afterwards went around the town so it wasn't anything too fancy or dramatic! Hope you enjoy :)

Here is what I look like before make up. I have moisturized my face beforehand using the Simple Moisturizer. I then prime my face to ensure my make up lats all night using the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. (Brace yourselves for this picture!! )

I start of by doing the base of my make up. For my foundation I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up mixed with a bit of the L'Oreal True Match just to get the perfect colour. Once I have done this I will put the Rimmel Stay Matte powder on top just to ensure that the foundation stays in place. To put on my foundation I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush as I find it blends the make up really well and leaves i looking natural.

After doing my base make up I move on to my eyes. I am the worst at doing my eye make up as I have a really unsteady hand and suck at blending eye shadow! I try my best anyway, so to start I prime my eyelids with the MUA eye primer so that the eye shadow doesn't fall down half way through the night. The make up palette I use for the night was the NYC Individual Eyes blue eyes palette.

I took the pale silver/grey all over my lid and then with the darker lilac I used in my crease and blended it out. With the pale lilac I used it to highlight along my brow bone to define and in the corners of my eyes to highlight and make the eye appear bigger. With the dark grey I used right in the corner of my eyes to define even more. Here is the end result;

To complete my eye make up I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara and the Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Eyeliner to line along the lash line. I also used the Rimmel Professional Eye Brow pencil to fill in and add more colour to my eyebrows as I have sparse spacing in my eyebrows that needs filled in.

Next I move on to finish off my face make up. I conceal my spots and blemishes with the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and a Real Techniques Dome Eye shadow Brush. This concealer gives really good coverage and isn't a highlighter one so it doesn't leave your spots looking shiny and drawing more attention to them. To highlight under my eyes to brighten them up I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer accuse as well as highlighting it covers up dark circles.

I use the Bourjois Powder Delice De Poudre Bronzer as it is really good for obviously bronzing up your complexion as well as defining cheekbones and it also adds a bit of shimmer too. To set all my face make up I use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in translucent. This stuff works miracles! It leaves my skin matte all night long and keeps all my make up in place for ages! :) To extra set my make up I use the Urban Decay setting spray just to ensure that it all stays in place and doesn't rub of by the end of the night :)

To complete my look I put on Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet (I think that's what it is called) This just adds a pop of colour to the overall look and the lip butter is really long lasting and I feel that all the colour range is really wearable and is so affordable :)

Here is the completed look, I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to do more like this in the future :)

This post was very spontaneous and was an excuse to not revise for my exams so if it isn't as detailed as you would like then please let me know for next time as it was rather rushed which I apologize for!

Until next time, Lisa xx

March Favourites

Heeeeeey.

(I always begin with 'Hello again' so I am going for something different!)

Today I will be sharing with you all what my favourite items have been over the month of March. Firstly can I say WOW this year is flying by so quickly I am struggling to keep up -however the school year is nearly up so YAY! There is always a positive!

I have been loving so much this month and trying out lots of new products so I have quite a few to share with you today and hopefully you will feel inspired to try them and love them as much as I do. And of course if you want to, you can share with me what your favourite things of this month were in the comments :)

Side note, this could also be my last post for a little while as I will be focusing on my exams and coursework. So bare with me, I need to pass these exams!

Make Up

As it is now officially Spring I have been bringing back all my old make up favourites again to use in this season. I do this weird cycle thing where I only use certain products in a season and then put them away until next year so now I have to go and find all my last year Spring products so that I can get good use out of them!!

My make up favourites of this month are both base items and they are Rimmel Perfect Match foundation and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Both of these have been my staple for the month of March, they work so well together for a fresh, natural, easy to wear look.

Firstly the foundation I got from a recommendation from my friend who uses it daily and I thought that I might give it a go as I have been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up one for AGES and I wanted to try something new. I find that this foundation is really easy to work into the skin and it looks really natural. I have oily skin and my sister has dry skin and we both use this foundation and it works great for both of us so it is an all round product for every skin type!

The Collection concealer is of course one of those cult beauty classics that basically every beauty guru on YouTube talks about and I couldn't resist the temptation any longer so when I saw it one day when I was out I had to buy it! and I am glad that I did because it is honestly amazing! It covers all my imperfections really well and I have quite a few scars from spots that I picked (EW!) so finding a really full coverage concealer is always really hard and I am never happy until you can't see a single blemish on my face - luckily this concealer does the trick and it was so cheap which surprised me! I think I may have bought a shade too dark for my skin though so I will have to go back and get a shade lighter but for now I am making it work!

Overall, for make up this month I really just tried to get my base perfect for the summer time and I think I have achieved this with these two products :)

Hair:

Recently I have began to notice that my hair is becoming a lot weaker than is usually is, which I put down to be severely damaging it by dying it every 2 months! However I went on a mission to find something to help repair it and make it not look so dry and straw like! I found this 2-in-1 product by Pantene:

It is a shampoo and conditioner which I never really would recommend as I don't believe on product can do both but I think this one is really effective! I have been using it for around the whole month now, for every wash (which is every 2 days) and have found that my hair is in fact becoming shinier and a lot more healthy than before, which is such a relief as I was looking like a scarecrow for a while there..

I would overall really recommend this product if you are finding your hair to be breaking off and looking really dull recently. I wanted to ensure that my hair looked shiny as it is coming into the Summer and I wanted that 'natural glow' look and I think that with continued use I will achieve this!

Skin Care:

My skin has actually been not too bad in terms of break outs recently (It's a miracle I know!) however I am still not satisfied with the blemishes and red scars that I have on my face!! So in an effort to try and use every product possible to find the right one I bought the Origins Clear Improvements Mask.

I use this mask once a week, sometimes twice if I remember to and can be bothered to do it! I hate masks that you have to wash off however I am prepared to do whatever works to clear my skin for good. I find that this mask leaves my skin super baby bum soft after using it and since I have been using it for nearly 2 months now I am defiantly beginning to see an improvement in the colour of the blemishes, they are finally fading away! This product was £22 however I think that for the price of it and the fact it is lasting me a lifetime as you only need a pea size amount each time, it is worth the money!

I would highly recommend this product if you have problems with blemishes. I love relaxing in the bath with music on and this face mask.

Music:

I cannot get enough of listening to 5 Seconds of Summer's EP! It is so perfect it makes me want to cry and eat ice cream every time because I know I will never marry them all. Bigamy at its best.

My favourite song on the EP is Disconnected. It makes me want to dance around my bedroom pretending to be on a beach somewhere (I have no idea ok) but you really need to buy this if you haven't! I have been a fan of 5SOS for a little over 2 years now and they are seriously so kind-hearted, down to earth lovely boys who deserve all the success that they get. Just one thing though THEY NEED TO COME BACK TO HERE SO I CAN SEE YOU ON YOUR OWN TOUR OK THANK YOU (That was needed to be put out there.)

Random:

On March 25th I was lucky enough to go to The Wanted's concert, front row. I actually love The Wanted so flipping much and the fact that they are over now completely heartbreaks me (I could go off in a tangent here but I wont) The concert was seriously one of the best of my life. I went to their last concert as well and had an amazing time so I knew this would be unreal. I think they are all so talented, funny and beautiful boys/men now. 4 years on and I am still their number one fan. Anyway, the concert was so impressively amazing and I can't believe I will never see them again :( Thankfully they gave me the best night of my life, so the memories will last forever. (ok Lisa, stop being so soppy!) Of course I have added the ticket to my wall of ever growing concert ticket collection, it is actually getting ridiculous!! Of course The Vamps were also there on tour with The Wanted who I love as well, seems to be a running theme in this post with boys...hmm anyways. The Vamps were also amazing, it was my second time seeing them live now I just need to see them on their own tour if they would just release tour dates for here that would be great!

I feel that this post was very much boyband oriented (5SOS are not a boyband however..just a band..with boys in it.) Hope you enjoyed my March Favourites.

Leave me a comment what you want to see on this blog, I am always open to feedback :)

Until next time,

Lisa xx

What's In My Make Up Bag- School Edition

Hello my lovelies!

So in my last post, I mentioned that I wasn't allowed to wear make up to school because my school doesn't care about girls and their feelings and their confidence! Hey maybe that could be another post? Lisa rants? haha let me know ;)

So anyway, I did mention that I was a rebel because I wear make up to school, however I have to do the lightest coverage a girl can do..seriously its ridiculous!!
With that being said here is my make up bag that I carry in my school bag. It is the perfect size, however if I was to change one thing it would be that it wouldn't be so structured so I can fit and shape things around in it! haha but I love the print on it. I don't know where it is from as it was a Christmas gift from someone but I use it daily and LOVE it! :D

The first thing that I ALWAYS need with me is some form of hand sanitizer or hand lotion because, girl, my school is like the breeding grounds of germs and bacteria so I always got to have this with me. This one is from Poundland..classy, I know! ;) but nothing wrong with Poundland..I buy them in bulk! This one below is nearly done so I gotta get another one. The smell isn't too appetizing but if it does the job I am happy :)

Instead of covering my face in foundation (because apparently that is 'too much for school, young lady') I opt to wear concealer on the areas that I need it i.e spots, blemishes etc. This one is quite a good coverage and I usually have to blend together the 1st and middle shades to get my match. I just use my fingers to apply it as it is a creamy texture and its just easier to spread that way. The end colour is a highlighter so I don't use it for school. This palette is from MUA and it is the Pro Base concealer palette.

So that the concealer lasts all day on my face I use this setting powder from Rimmel, its the famous Stay Matte powder in 'Peach Glow' Everyone I know uses this because it really is the best powder out there that keeps your face matte all day and for only £4 its a good deal :) I tend to go for the 'peach glow' one and not the translucent one because firstly I want to not look like a ghost around school and I think that the translucent one looks better over foundation and not on its own because really whats it gonna do?

Anyway, to apply this I take with me the Multi Task Brush from Real Techniques. It fits nicely into this bag and although it takes up some room it really is the best brush to apply the powder. The brush is really soft and only applies a light coverage on your face so you aren't caked in powder which I like.

On my lips I can't wear any coloured lip gloss or lipstick God forbid cause that will just ruin your education! Instead I have to use a lip balm or Vaseline. I like this lip balm by Jack Wills. Its raspberry flavoured so it tastes really good..not that I have tried to eat it or anything! haha This has lasted me quite a long time and the flavour is still there so it is really good quality  Its also small so its easy to carry around in my blazer if I want it off hand instead of hoaking through my bag :)

Lastly is mascara. Now this one is trickier to get away with because it is the
most one that we are not allowed. In the rules it says, and I quote:

"No heavy eye make up is to be worn to school, this includes mascara, eyeliner, false eyelashes and any other type of eye product (girls)"
It is honestly ridiculous, so when I wear mascara I tell them that my eyelashes are tinted or else 'that's all natural Miss!' (I am so bad...)
I lightly put on this one by Max factor  its in a little sample size bottle so it is easier to carry around. The application is easy and not too heavy so I can get away with it..most of the time.

I hope you can now all see what I meant by having a strict school and not being allowed make up. But what is a girl do!? I need make up and if they don't like it well then tough luck! :P

Until next time..thanks for reading :D

September Make Up And Outfit Looks

Hello everyone!!

I feel as though every time I come on to write a new post I always have to apologize as to why I haven't posted in FOREVER! But this time I have some legitimate excuses; I have been busy getting settled back into school and trying to work around homework and other things to try find the time to write, also as it is my last year of school (SCARY!) I have had to take up after school things to make me look half decent to the universities I will be applying to! Also with applying to Uni comes with having to write a personal statement and look for 5 courses that I want to apply to within the next month so I have been super busy and super stressed! However tonight, I find myself at a loss, I have done all my homework, looked at all my courses and I am waiting to get my first personal statement draft back so I thought 'Hey, lets blog!'

Along with all the above, I have been busy taking pictures for various posts that I have up my sleeve that will be coming your way very soon...well eventually!

Lets get into this one though shall we? :)

Today's post will be "Outfits and Make up looks" These are three looks that I have wore quite a lot recently as it is a new season and I have been trying to mix up my make up looks this month!

This first one I wore to see One Direction -This Is Us and OK I just have to say this BEST MOVIE EVER! I think I was the oldest in the cinema but I really couldn't care less as it was SO worth it! I think it may even be possible that I love them a little bit more? But hey, I'm not complaining it was amazing! And the 3D was like out of this world! *shocked face* I seriously would go back and watch it a million times (maybe a bit exaggerated..OK 100) as it was that good..if you haven't seen it yet GO RIGHT NOW!

OK so with that being said, here is my outfit;

I am wearing;Blouse - New Look, Scarf- River Island, Jeans-Next

I kept my make up look simple as I didn't want to look too overly done for only going to the cinema (although in my mind I wanted One Direction to turn up haha!) So here is my make up look;

Lips: Revlon Lip Butter-Cotton Candy

 Then for accessories, again I kept it quite plain and simple;

Earrings; New Look

Bracelets; New Look

Thumb ring; River Island

Ring- Topshop

After seeing the One Direction movie on the Sunday, my week only had to go downhill as I started back at school after an amazing 3 months of Summer holidays! At my school we are not allowed to wear any make up, however with the rebel inside of me I get away with light concealer and foundation and just a smidgen of mascara..and Vaseline  haha Here it is, me with the least amount of make up I could afford to put on.

Also this is my hideous school uniform..ugh.

This next look is one I wore quite often throughout September, just if I was going out with friends or shopping or something like that, it was a quick look to put together and its really nice with the bold lip colour :) There is no outfit for this look as I didn't specifically wear it only one time, I wore it A LOT! :L

I am totes in love with this flower crown I got from Primark for only £2 what a bargain!! :D  I wear it all the time although I do get funny looks! :( haha

Lips- Rimmel Apocolips 'Apocalyptic'

Eyes- MUA 'Undressed' palette, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Finally, this week my town had a kind of music night in the main street. This was held at night time, I have no idea why but it was. So I dressed casual and comfy as I was going to be walking around in the freezing cold all night! Here is my outfit below;

Cardigan; Next, Shirt; River Island, Leggings; New Look
(excuse my messy room!)

Socks; Topshop, Shoes; Primark

For my hair I wanted something that looked a little bit dressy but still easy to manage on such a cold, windy night so I opted for a huge bun on my head. I used a medium sized doughnut ring and tied my hair into a high pony tail and then fixed it in place around the doughnut. I firstly thought I wouldn't have enough hair to fit around it but surprisingly I did! Shocker.

For my make up, I wanted my eyes to have a bit of shimmer to them because it was a night out and well I would be meeting into people so I wanted to look half decent! Here is my make up look for the night;

Eyes- MUA eye shadow primer, MUA 'Undressed' palette, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Foundation; Max factor 3 in 1 all day flawless, Blush; MUA 'Cupcake' Lips; Revlon Lip Butter 'Candy Apple', Powder; Rimmel Stay Matte 'Peach Glow', Concealer; MUA Pro Base palette & Rimmel Wake me Up concealer True Ivory'

I hope you enjoyed these different make up looks, I sure enjoyed wearing them throughout this month! :D

Look out for my 'September Favourites' next week and if you want to see a One Direction 'Our Moment' perfume review then please comment :D

July Favourites :

Hello again!

For a new segment to my blog, I will be doing a monthly favourites posts. These will include my favourite make up product, song, nail polish, food, skin product and any other random things I have loved from that month :)

Make Up Product:

Ok so firstly my favourite makeup product of July has got to be the Olay Essentials Glow Perfectors BB cream. I bought this to take on holidays with me as I didn't want to be wearing a full coverage foundation daily whilst on holidays as I found my skin had cleared up due to the heatwave we had and also I have been taking better care of my skin recently so I thought a BB cream would be perfect for daily wearing. This one has a touch of foundation in it so I didn't feel too self conscious going without a full face of make up. I liked this product, it was very moisturising and creamy and it absorbed into my skin quickly so I wasn't sitting around hours waiting for it to be dry! Also the smell was very nice too, it kinda smelt like the beach! haha :L

Skin Care Product:

A skin care product that I have been loving this month is the B. Pure Micellar Water. I use this product one days where I am not wearing any make up just to cleanse my face and take away all the dirt and grease of the day away. The product itself is really inexpensive (£3.32) and I got it at Superdrug. I had never heard about this brand before but they are Animal testing free which I care about a lot so that was a major plus factor for me! This product also absorbs into the skin fast and leaves it feeling really cleansed out and fresh. I use it sometimes also in the morning if I feel a bit groggy! haha Overall really love this product and will also be trying other products from this line in the future! :D

Nail Varnish:

In my last blog I wrote about the NYC nail varnish and since I only just got it, that isn't going to be my monthly favourite (more than likely it will make an appearance next month!) but instead all of July I was wearing the Rimmel 60 Seconds in the colour Pop Your Orange. This is a really bright, neon orange and I have just been wearing this with everything lately. It doesn't really matter if it clashes with your outfit because I just think it works (unless you're wearing red of course!) But I love Rimmel as a brand and their nail varnishes do not disappoint.

Music:

Ok I think we will all see this as no surprise but I have seriously non stop listened to One Direction Best Song Ever! It is no secret that I love the 1D boys and I don't even care that I am 17, I just tell myself that what if Niall sees me in the crowd some day? Yeah I do fantasise about that...moving on! The song is really catchy and so different from their usual pop songs, it has more of an edge to it and I think they are trying out new sounds which I love! And Zayn's high notes!? Dear Lord I think I stopped breathing! haha. The video is also amazing, its so funny and has such a great concept I love it! And Harry in that shirt...again I stopped breathing! Ok I could go on about the song and One Direction forever but I won't.. ;) It's just amazing..go listen to it if you haven't already..which I doubt! :D

Food:

I don't know why I am incorporating food into this.oh yeah cause I am a food addict and never stop eating, yip sounds about right! I eat lots of things, and I love everything so it was hard choosing what my favourite of the month was but this just sums me up really. When I was younger I always ate Shortcake Fruit Biscuits and whilst I was on holidays this month i found them in a shop and had to buy them, ever since I have non stop ate them! They are basically a shortcake biscuit with currants in them. You may be thinking 'ew currants in a biscuit?' I used to think that too, and I can't eat currants on their own but for some reason they are just so yummy in this biscuit! I dip them into my tea and eat at least 3 a sitting. They are also low on calories but heck if they were like 100 calories per biscuit I would still eat them cause they are amazing! Seriously try them!

Random:

There are a lot of random things that I love in life, so this was hard to pick one. I decided to go with bracelet making. I watched a Youtube video once and this girl showed you how to make 3 different designs of friendship bracelets and ever since I have bought all these things to make bracelets - embroidery thread, charms, clasps, fabric glue, beads - its crazy! I am thinking of starting to sell them but I don't think I have quite mastered the art of how to do it quite yet! haha but for now its just a fun hobby that I am enjoying using my creative side and it passes the time! :D

That is all my July favourites for this year anyway, so until next time adios amigos! :D

Love you all! :) stay beautiful.

*disclaimer* all opinions are my own, I am not sponsored!
