End of Summer Make Up Shopping

Hey guys, hope you are all well and the fact that school will be starting again soon doesn't upset too many of you! I can not believe that this will be my last year of school! Where has the time gone to? Its scary to think that after this year I have to go into the 'real world' and to be honest that quite simply petrifies me!!
But enough of that, if you would like to see a post on high school advice leave a comment and I will try my best to answer and help you :)

On to todays post, I recently went shopping and bought a few more make up products that I want to share with you. I am going to a wedding this week and needed to get some new things to try a different make up look and I had to repurchase my good old faithful products for the new school year.

The first product I bought was a new Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the colour 'Apocaliptic' which is a deep raspberry pink colour. I adore the Apocalips as they are seriously so pigmented and last the whole night! This is my 3rd one and I don't think I would choose anything else to wear to the wedding as these are amazing! :D

The next product I bought was Benefit Boi-ing concealer and I was SO excited as this is my first every Benefit product! I have only recently started getting into make up and so I don't have any 'high end' brand make up. I had never bought anything from the Benefit counter before, only just browsed! I heard that this concealer was really good and to be honest it is really good. I got the shade 02 and it is a bit darker than my skin tone but when I put it under my eyes it does match up as I get dark circles and this concealer gives really good coverage! Its creamy consistency means I use my fingers to apply the product and I use it for under my eyes and on any blemishes I may have. I really would recommend this product if you are willing to spent the money on such a good quality product :)

On the day that I went shopping my mother must have been feeling generous as she kindly bought be the Urban Decay Make Up Setting Spray in 'all nighter' (either that or she knew that she would get to use it as well!) I have wanted it for complete ages and once again this is my first Urban Decay product so I am really happy that I have it! I haven't gotten to use it yet for a whole night to see how it lasts, but I plan on using it for the wedding and me and my mum will be using it. I have oily skin and my mum has dry skin so if you would like a review as to how it lasted on both kinds of skin, leave a comment or tweet me! :)

Next up I got an old favourite of mine (well not old, but I repurchased it!) and it is the Maybelline The Falsies mascara. I wear this mascara basically everywhere I go, to school, when I go out for a night, when I go shopping. It is just an all round great mascara. It lasts long and looks good all day and never has any fall down. I have a bottle already for going out but I wanted a new one for the school year (I'm weird, I know!) I am one for when I find a good mascara I don't like trying new ones and stick to what I know, the same with foundation! So if you have any good mascara recommendations or foundations please let me know! :D

Lastly I got the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. This is honestly the best setting powder out there and for the price of it you can not go wrong! It lasts all day, however since I do have excessively oily skin (so annoying!) my T-zone area always needs topped up during the day so I just take this with me and a little powder brush and its fine! I would highly recommend this for all skin types as it keeps your make up in place and keeps it really matte! :D

That is all for todays post, I hope you enjoyed it! :)

The next post I plan on doing is a 'Get ready with me - Summer Wedding' so make sure you watch out for that.

If you have any suggestions for posts you would like to see, such as the Back to school advice one I talked about then leave me a comment :)

Until next time - Lisa xo

Music Mix Up

Hi again! :)

Today's post is going to be about all my favourite music artists and songs that I have been loving listening to over the past months. My music taste can be quite varied although mainly I love pop/chart music and country music.

Music is something that can help a lot of people through tough times and can really lift your spirits if you are feeling down. Music is therapy for a lot of people in lots of different situations. So I always say never slate anyone for their music tastes or idols because in reality those people might only be here because of the music.

That's enough inspirational words from me today, so without further ado here are my top 10 songs of the Summer 2013 :)

1.) It obviously has to be One Direction Best Song Ever! I have no shame in being called a Directioner! I seriously love them and this song is just so fun and catchy and full of dancing and fun things! I dance around to this all time and sing my little heart out when it comes on in the car! I don't care if you think I am too old, because I have loved them since 2010 and have basically grew up with them so why should I change? So yeah I love this song, gets me in such a good mood and I have listened to it, even when it leaked! (I really don't care, judge me!)

2.) A bit controversial considering I have just confessed my love of One Direction but it has to be The Wanted We Own The Night, although it just had its first play on Monday I haven't stopped listening to it! If they realised it earlier in the Summer, it could have been one of the biggest hits of the Summer, in my opinion anyway! I love the TW boys, they are so funny and down to earth. I am a TWFanmily, and to be honest who made the rules that you can't like both boy bands? Because I for one love them both! It should be about the music really not about looks etc! The song is really anthem like and has some good chanting bits which I thoroughly enjoy jumping and waving my arms like a loony to! I have nothing more expect it is a great song!

3.) Recently I can't stop listening to Hunter Hayes I Want Crazy, I know I mentioned him in my last post but honestly this song has been my Summer song. I listen to it on my play list for bed and it just makes me smile! It is a country song and he is a country artist but as I said that's what I like so don't judge me :) The song is really fun and catchy and makes me happy!

4.) I have also loved Cody Simpson Pretty Brown Eyes. Cody makes songs that sound a bit beachy and surfer like but I really enjoy the music he makes and this song in particularly is really catchy and fun. I adore Cody, I think he is so cute and makes me unreal music. His new album Surfers Paradise is also just out so go check it out! :)

5.) Lawson ft B.O.B Brokenhearted is a smashing tune! I have loved Lawson since the beginning of their career and to see how far they have progressed has been amazing. This song is so good and has a good beat to it. I like the dancy feel you get from it and it just makes you want to scream sing it all the time. (not sure if that is just me and my sister but hey ho :P ) I can't wait to go see Lawson on tour in October! I just know it will be amazing!

6.) Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Everything Has Changed is another of my top songs for this Summer. I may think I have a huge girl crush on Taylor but I am not ashamed of that, she's beautiful! haha I love all her songs, although some people truly hate her I think she is very talented! I also love Ed so the fact they have a song together is just mind blowingly great! I love the song, I love to sing it, in my bedroom, alone. OK moving on...it is an amazing song and is so sweet!

7.) Defiantly Demi Lovato Heart Attack has been a cracker of a song! I love to just belt this song out with loads of dramatic arm movements when it comes on, I mean how can you not? I sing it at the top of lungs and it is really incredible! I love Demi, she is so inspiring and her songs are just so real and from the heart. Amazing talent and incredible songwriter!

8.) The Vamps Can We Dance is another of my favourites. It had its first radio play recently and I feel in love with the song! I have watched the boys do covers on YouTube and now to see them having a song on the radio and a music video is so surreal! I adore these boys, they are so down to earth and lovely and the song is great! Has a good dancy vibe to it and I can see it being played in a club and places like that! Also it helps that they are easy on the eye as well ;) haha

9.) Jason Derulo The Other Song is another amazing song of the Summer! It is a good one to dance to and sing along to. I like Jason Derulo and it also makes amazing songs! I always like to play this in the car and it makes me happy :)

10.) Finally it has to be Avicii Wake Me Up as it honestly has been the Summer song of 2013. It has a good tune to it and I like to dance and sing to it. I have just realised that I like to sing and dance to a lot of songs, that's probably why these songs are my favourite? haha the song is really catchy and I enjoy it a lot.

So those were my top 10 songs from the past months that I like to listen (and dance and sing to apparently) to so I hope if you haven't heard any of the songs that you will check them out and I would love to hear your favourite songs so leave a comment! :D

Love you all xo.

July Favourites :

Hello again!

For a new segment to my blog, I will be doing a monthly favourites posts. These will include my favourite make up product, song, nail polish, food, skin product and any other random things I have loved from that month :)

Make Up Product:

Ok so firstly my favourite makeup product of July has got to be the Olay Essentials Glow Perfectors BB cream. I bought this to take on holidays with me as I didn't want to be wearing a full coverage foundation daily whilst on holidays as I found my skin had cleared up due to the heatwave we had and also I have been taking better care of my skin recently so I thought a BB cream would be perfect for daily wearing. This one has a touch of foundation in it so I didn't feel too self conscious going without a full face of make up. I liked this product, it was very moisturising and creamy and it absorbed into my skin quickly so I wasn't sitting around hours waiting for it to be dry! Also the smell was very nice too, it kinda smelt like the beach! haha :L

Skin Care Product:

A skin care product that I have been loving this month is the B. Pure Micellar Water. I use this product one days where I am not wearing any make up just to cleanse my face and take away all the dirt and grease of the day away. The product itself is really inexpensive (£3.32) and I got it at Superdrug. I had never heard about this brand before but they are Animal testing free which I care about a lot so that was a major plus factor for me! This product also absorbs into the skin fast and leaves it feeling really cleansed out and fresh. I use it sometimes also in the morning if I feel a bit groggy! haha Overall really love this product and will also be trying other products from this line in the future! :D

Nail Varnish:

In my last blog I wrote about the NYC nail varnish and since I only just got it, that isn't going to be my monthly favourite (more than likely it will make an appearance next month!) but instead all of July I was wearing the Rimmel 60 Seconds in the colour Pop Your Orange. This is a really bright, neon orange and I have just been wearing this with everything lately. It doesn't really matter if it clashes with your outfit because I just think it works (unless you're wearing red of course!) But I love Rimmel as a brand and their nail varnishes do not disappoint.

Music:

Ok I think we will all see this as no surprise but I have seriously non stop listened to One Direction Best Song Ever! It is no secret that I love the 1D boys and I don't even care that I am 17, I just tell myself that what if Niall sees me in the crowd some day? Yeah I do fantasise about that...moving on! The song is really catchy and so different from their usual pop songs, it has more of an edge to it and I think they are trying out new sounds which I love! And Zayn's high notes!? Dear Lord I think I stopped breathing! haha. The video is also amazing, its so funny and has such a great concept I love it! And Harry in that shirt...again I stopped breathing! Ok I could go on about the song and One Direction forever but I won't.. ;) It's just amazing..go listen to it if you haven't already..which I doubt! :D

Food:

I don't know why I am incorporating food into this.oh yeah cause I am a food addict and never stop eating, yip sounds about right! I eat lots of things, and I love everything so it was hard choosing what my favourite of the month was but this just sums me up really. When I was younger I always ate Shortcake Fruit Biscuits and whilst I was on holidays this month i found them in a shop and had to buy them, ever since I have non stop ate them! They are basically a shortcake biscuit with currants in them. You may be thinking 'ew currants in a biscuit?' I used to think that too, and I can't eat currants on their own but for some reason they are just so yummy in this biscuit! I dip them into my tea and eat at least 3 a sitting. They are also low on calories but heck if they were like 100 calories per biscuit I would still eat them cause they are amazing! Seriously try them!

Random:

There are a lot of random things that I love in life, so this was hard to pick one. I decided to go with bracelet making. I watched a Youtube video once and this girl showed you how to make 3 different designs of friendship bracelets and ever since I have bought all these things to make bracelets - embroidery thread, charms, clasps, fabric glue, beads - its crazy! I am thinking of starting to sell them but I don't think I have quite mastered the art of how to do it quite yet! haha but for now its just a fun hobby that I am enjoying using my creative side and it passes the time! :D

That is all my July favourites for this year anyway, so until next time adios amigos! :D

Love you all! :) stay beautiful.

Summer Finds (New Obsessions!)

Hey everyone, I'm back!!!!!

So I haven't been posting a lot recently, firstly because it's Summer and I have a social life (she says whilst sitting in her pj's at 3pm!) and secondly because I have been trying to find the perfect thing to write about! I try and do new things every post and see what works for this blog and what doesn't and basically I had a bit of writers block :S but I am back now with loads more ideas after a huge brainstorm!!

This post is going to be all about the new things which I have found over the Summer and have fallen in love with! Some new things, and some things that I have tried before and forgotten how amazing they are and have re-discovered them, which happens me all the time! So without further ado here are my SUMMER OBSESSIONS 2013! :D

The first thing is a make up brand which I now LOVE! It is called MUA (Make Up Academy) I have just discovered it and I couldn't believe how inexpensive their products where!! It was actually crazy,I went crazy! haha.

I bought 4 powder blushers (In the colours Lolly, Cupcake, Bubblegum and Bon Bon) that were £1 each!! Crazy right?

I also bought an eye shadow palette (Undressed) for £4!

I bought an eye primer for £2.50.

Next I found their lipstick section and was blown away with the amount of colour options and all their lipstick was £1 each! I chose the shade 7 as it was a pink/nude colour and I wanted a shade that was wearable to school.

I then picked up a nail varnish for £1 in the colour Strawberry which is a dark pink colour.

Next I chose the Pro-base Conceal and Brighten Kit in the colour Porcelain. This kit has a darker concealer and a lighter colour concealer and also a highlighter. I thought it would be good for travelling and overnight stays as their are several products in one small sized kit. This product was only £3.50 which I thought was a bargain! :)

The next product I saw was the Mosaic Blusher in English Rose, which is a large blusher that is mosaic-ed with pinks,browns,purples and peach colours. It also has a shimmer in it and I thought it would be perfect for Summer  It was only £2.50 as well!

That was all I bought from MUA (I say 'all' as in it was barely anything but I went a bit mad! Sorry bank balance! :P ) I will do a review of all the products, what ones I liked and what ones could be improved etc! :)

The next thing is NYC nail varnish, in particular the colour Raindrop which is an absolutely beautiful blue/green colour. The formula of the nail varnish as well is so good, its really creamy like and applies so easily! The pigmentation is incredible and you only really need one-two coats of the varnish! It was also really inexpensive, costing only £1.79 for the bottle! I really think I need to get some more in my life!

Finally a new love of my life is Hunter Hayes! He is seriously incredible and I love him OK?  He is a country singer/songwriter from America and he is very easy on the eye if you know what I mean ;) Recently I have been really into country songs, which I love as I was brought up in a household that always had country singers playing and I love it when I find fresh new country music talent to share with everyone and someone is more around my generation and more modern, if you get me? My favourite song to listen to by Hunter is 'I Want Crazy' and I seriously have non-stop listened to this song all Summer! :D please go check it out here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvtXgNtYFMs

You won't regret it, and even if you don't like country music, it is a really catchy song and I apologize in advance if you become obsessed like me! ;)

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed!

Love you all! :)

Water Marble Nail Art Tutorial

This is the tutorial that I used to learn how to do Water Marble effect nails. It is really helpful and easy to follow! Enjoy learning how to do the effect everyone! :D

Summer Nail Art Designs

Just to start off this blog post today with WOW I can't believe I have hit 100 page views! That is incredible, and thank you everyone who has read it! I know 100 seems like a small number compared to other blogs, but just imagine 100 people standing in front of you, then you will realise just how many that is! :)

Today I will be showing you simple nail art designs that are perfect for Summer and are so on trend!  2013 is full of bright neon colours, pastel colours and cute quirky designs! I will show 3 different designs, one that is for beginners, the next one is a little more harder and the last is an advanced one (well one that I would find advanced!)

The first trend is neon designs, here are some of my favourite ones to do that you can re-create at home :)

This simple nail art design means you can paint your nail in any bright neon colour and then around the bottom add in a grey, white, silver or black bottom tip design. It is really easy to do, and looks cute for Summer!

This tiger print design means you will need more than 2 colours and more  than likely you will need  some sort of nail art design brush tool or you could even try using a toothpick or a cotton bud if you don't have any design brushes!
This design is for the advanced nail artists among us. It is called a Water Marble Effect  and once you get the hang of how to do it, it is relatively easy (yet incredibly messy!) I will post a YouTube which I learnt from in the next blog post! :)

The next trend I have been loving recently is Pastels, there are so many cute, quirky designs you can create using pastel colours, and even just a plain pastel colour on its own looks super cute! So here are my top three for pastel nails :)

Here are a few examples of pastel nail polishes. I think they look so cool for Summer time, the pale colours blend in with the sun. As you can see here just a plain pastel colour on your nail looks so girly and nice!

This design is a little more quirky as it has an element of design in it. I like the contrast of 2 pastel colours on the one nail as it adds more dimension to the nail design, also the introduction of the silver glitter to separate them makes it more cute and pretty. The bow can be optional depending on whether or not you had nail accessories  but they are easy to find in nail stands or online!

This more advanced design sees the addition of again having to using design tools, for this design you will need a detail brush and a dotting tool, again you can use a toothpick or cotton bud if you want to. There are tutorial videos out there to show you how to do the floral design. I really like the vintage look these nails bring and I think they are perfect for summer!

The next trend that I like to wear on my nails is quirky, fun designs such as cows, mustaches and even minnie mouse! Just search the internet for quirky nail designs and you can pretty much get anything you could want to put on your nails! Here are a few of my favourite! :D

Cute cupcake nails!

Cow print nails!

Minnie Mouse nails :)

Mustache and spots nails!

Cute owl nails!

I hope you enjoyed this post on different designs to try on your nails. Whether they are long or short nails, just get creative with it and have fun! :D

Lots of love xo.

10 Things to do in the Summer

Hello again everyone,

So as it is now officially Summer and many are off on their school holidays I thought that it would be fun to do my top 10 things to do in Summer, and if you are bored someday you can read them and be inspired to do one of them :)

Ok so number 1;

There is nothing I love more than when it is sunny and you can just gather a few friends to your house and just hang out all day and do fun stuff. For example, hire a bouncy castle? Club together and buy some water guns, a water slide or even a pool? There is nothing better than running around the garden in a pair of shorts or a bikini chasing people with a water gun!! Then perhaps later you can have a BBQ or if your older a few drinks? ;)
You will have endless hours of fun!! Highly recommended!

Number 2;

If you don't live near the seaside then why not pack a car full of people and head to the nearest beach? Again you can have a BBQ or a picnic, you can play beach volleyball  go swimming? Again there are endless hours of fun to have at the beach!

Number 3;

Go into a forest, a field or even your garden and just spend the night in a tent? A campfire, toasting marshmallows and someone can bring a guitar and you can have a sing song out in nature? Just make sure whatever forest or field you go into it safe and you have the owners permission!! You don't want to wake up to a field of cows in the morning!

Number 4;

If you live in the city or near one, find out what activities will be happening during Summer, there could be a music festival, a community fun day or anything else. If you don't try and find out you will never know! I know that where I live there are always endless amounts of festivals and fun days, how could you ever be bored?

Number 5;

If it is raining then there are always fun things to do indoors too! You could go swimming, bowling, to the cinema or to a shopping centre! Call up a few friends and spend the day together, again doing lots of fun things that you can all enjoy. Afterwards you can go for a meal somewhere :)

Number 6;

Tidy out your bedroom! As boring as it may sound, once you get into it, it can be rather fun! Just give it a big dung out and you never know what you might find! Old photos, something you had lost for ages. Turn your music up full and just get into it! If the room is too much for you then start small and clear out your wardrobe! As it is summer, you will want to bring out your summer clothes and put away your old winter clothes! Whichever one you do, it will waste a day and you will keep yourself busy all day! I know I do when I clear out my room!!

Number 7;

Bake something, a cake, buns, cookies. Whatever you are in the mood for! There are loads of websites and recipe books out there, you will be spoiled for choice! If you're in the mood for gooey chocolate sponge cake or a healthy peanut butter cupcake then you will find a recipe somewhere!

Number 8;

Go for a walk. If it is a nice day just go outside and walk somewhere (make sure you know where you are going!) You can do this no matter where you live! If you live in the country just walk (safely) along the roads and take in all the beautiful scenery. If you live in the city just walk around it, there will always be something interesting to see in the city! If you live on the seaside, walk along the beach! Just get some fresh air!

Number 9;

If you are talented, write a song! or a story, or a poem! If you go for the song you could always record yourself singing it, or singing any song and put it on Youtube or Soundcloud if you don't want to be seen! You could search for different talent shows to take part in if you sing or play an instrument, or if you prefer drama and acting you could search for local auditions and get involved in them. Even if you live in a community area, you could find out of any summer kids clubs where they might need volunteers to help out and you could volunteer?

Number 10;

Start your own blog! I may be bias but it is so much fun! Just write about whatever you want! The topics are endless!!

Whatever you do this summer, please stay safe and enjoy yourself!

Till next time... xo
