Current Hair Routine

Hello lovely people,

A few weeks ago I tweeted about how I needed new products for my hair as I was having some trouble with it being damaged and dry all the time, which I put down to it being dyed and highlighted too often! Anyway I got some great recommendations from people on Twitter that I decided to try and was pleasantly surprised with the difference I could see in my hair in just a few weeks so I thought that if some of you were having the same problem with damaged and dry hair then this could maybe help you out a little :)

Firstly I changed all the products that I was using, I just started freshly again. I changed my shampoo to this L'Oreal Elvive one;

I feel that this has made a massive change to my hair as it has the right nutrients in it that will make my hair look more glossy and less dry and damaged looking, since my hair is also blonde when it is dry it resembles straw..not a good look!

Next for conditioner, which is a step that I feel is so important as it leaves your hair really soft and less tatty when brushing through it. One that I use around 2-3 times a weeks is this one by Aussie;

Excuse the grossness of this picture! However despite that the product inside it INCREDIBLE! A tiny bit really does go a long way, I run this product through the ends of my hair after shampooing and leave it for around 2 minutes. I have been truly converted to this product and will most defiantly be purchasing the larger bottle as I only got this as a sampler. My hair was left feeling smooth and the ends of hair looked in great condition!

To style my hair I have been trying to use less heat as before I used to blow dry and straighten my hair every day! (I know, I was bad!) However now I only blow dry my hair if I wash it in the morning and I only straighten it if I am going somewhere. By limiting the heat on my hair I have found it to be less dry and it just in general looks a lot more healthy :)

This is my current hair care routine and I can say that for certain I am so happy that I changed up my products because I don't think my hair has ever looked so good and healthy! Thank you to the girls on twitter that gave me the recommendations, you are all life savers! :)

Until next time,
Love Lisa x

£100 Wishlist - Hey Dolly Boutique

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to do something that I have never done before but have saw a lot of bloggers do recently which is my '£100 wishlist' I decided to pick Hey Dolly to do my wishlist from because quite simply this online boutique is really underrated in my opinion and they do some beautiful unique pieces!

Quick disclaimer - all the images are from the Hey Dolly twitter,which I will link at the end. I will link all items to the website also. I am also not sponsored to do this post, I just really like their clothing!

So without further ado, here is my £100 wishlist!

The first product that I have had my eye on for ages now is this stunning playsuit

I love the pattern and the colours in this playsuit. The cut at the top is also stunning and I would wear this to a festival or concert. This playsuit is £35 which I feel is a reasonable price as you could wear it every summer!

The next item which I love from Hey Dolly is this gorgeous pink dress :)

The thing I love most about this dress except for the stunning colour is the zip detail at the front, I think it just adds that little something extra! The style and shape of the dress is also very flattering and would be perfect for an evening out or for if you were attending a wedding during the Summer. At £44.99 it is rather pricey but for good quality it would be worth it and it is something you could style differently every time you wear it!

As well as clothing, Hey Dolly also do a variety of handbags and accessories which are all affordable and beautiful so it was hard picking my favourite! However with only £20 roughly left to spend I have selected my favourite 2 that cost £10 each. The first is this clutch bag that comes in a selection of colours;

My favourite one is the white one trimmed with pink or the black one as I feel that they would match a lot of outfits I already have however my inner-self is screaming for that bright neon green one as I think you would really stand out if you matched this with a simple black dress or jumpsuit! These clutch bags look really spacious as well which is such a bonus! They are classy and affordable, what a bargain!

Finally, the second accessory I have chosen at £10 to complete my £100 wishlist is the flower crown's that they have added.

These again would be perfect for a festival or concert and for only £10 they are so inexpensive compared to other's from high street brands! I absolutely adore the pink one and the lilac one, however they are all simply gorgeous! The fact that they are on headbands is also a plus for me as sometimes I find the stretchy material that some flower crowns come one quite sore on my head!

So that completes my £100 wishlist from Hey Dolly boutique! There was so much more that I want from Hey Dolly that would have exceeded £100 so I had to narrow it down to some of my favourite pieces!

If you haven't heard of Hey Dolly before please check out their website; http://heydolly.co.uk/

And their twitter where they post competitions and show you exclusive new pieces, https://twitter.com/Heydollylondon

I hope you enjoyed this post, I certainly enjoyed fantasising about all the clothes I can not afford from Hey Dolly! If you would like more posts like this then please share and comment! :)

Until next time, Lisa xx

My Top 5 Picks - Nail Polish

Hey everyone!

I love a lot of products, that's a given obvious from my blog. I recently was going through all my make up and sorting it all out because honestly it had went a bit crazy and I was buying all thee new things that I knew I didn't need! I decided to put myself through make up rehab and that's how came up with the idea for this post.

I decided to pick out my top 5 of each type of product and so I thought I would make a little series on my blog to share with you all what my top 5 make up product picks are.

To begin with, nail polish is my downfall. I literally have over 100 bottles of the stuff, it's an addiction. This was really hard but these top 5 picks are my favourite to wear in the Summer months because it would be so hard to narrow it down to my top 5 overall!

Barry M in my opinion own it when it comes to nail polish! Their formula is the best that I have tried, especially from their Gelly HI-Shine range. The polish stays on for a really long time and overall the brand is really good and inexpensive as they always have special deals and offers going on. It was really hard to choose my favourite from the Barry M range but I picked this pastel blue one for Summer as it is the one that I would reach for most often during the Summer months as it is a really casual colour and matches a lot of clothing.

The second brand that I have most nail polishes from is Rimmel. Again, Rimmel have a really good formula with their nail polishes however they aren't as long lasting as the Barry M ones but they do have a wide range of colour options and again it was very difficult to choose my favourite one.

I decided on the muted/pastel lilac almost grey colour as it is the one that I have been wearing recently and it is so a gorgeous and such an
unusual colour. It is called 'Mary Mary quite contrary' which is such a cute name! I wear this nail polish on a day to day basis as it is so muted it matches with everything which is such a bonus!

A lot of people would refrain themselves from wearing red nail polish during the summer months, however I believe I have found the perfect red nail colour for Summer and it is from L'Oreal, a brand that I literally never buy nail polish from! This gorgeous deep, bright red gives the perfect pop of colour. I especially love to wear it along with red lipstick when I am wearing a white or eve monochrome outfit during the Summer. This colour is called '403 Femme Fatale' and I really think that if you love the colour red you should defiantly look into this shade for Summer!

Coral is one of my favourite shades to wear in the Summer, it is bright and fun and simply defines Summer to me. Rimmel again do my favourite shade of coral to wear in the Summer and it is called 'Orange Your Life' which is such a quirky name! When you put one layer on it doesn't look that bright but I usually end up having to use 2-3 coats, which kinda sucks to get the bright pop of neon coral/orange that I want to achieve. All in all it is a really fun bright summer colour!

The final nail polish that I want to put into my top 5 picks for Summer is one from NYC. I don't own a lot of NYC products, in fact I think I only have 3 of their nail polish's however I was really impressed by this shade. It is a beautiful green/blue. Not exactly a mint green colour, it is a lot brighter than that. The reason I really like this shade is because when you want something brighter than a pastel green then this is the perfect in between shade as it isn't exactly a neon-popping colour. The formula of the nail polish I really loved and it only took one coat which is a big bonus!

Sorry for this incredibly long post, but there was so much information and love for each of these nail polish's that I just had to put in!!

Also, side note, each picture with the nail polish was done with one dip in the bottle and one coat just to show off how what the formula was like for each different nail polish.

Hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to know what your favourite Summer nail polishes are!?

Until next time,

Love, Lisa xx

Recent Favourites

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! :)

I normally do monthly favourite posts, but this month I have been loving SO much and I just couldn't wait to the end of the month to share them all with you so I thought I would just do a random favourites post now and then at the end of the month I'll do another one :)

My first favourite is a nail polish. Barry M is by far my favourite brand to buy my nail polishes from. They are super long lasting and the formula is incredible! :) The colour I have been loving is called Sugar Apple and is a gorgeous mint green colour, perfect for the start of Summer! Mint green has been my go to colour recently and I love anything that colour so this nail polish is perfect for me and I have worn it practically for this whole month (and will probably continue to do so throughout the summer!)

The book 'The Fault In Our Stars' has by far been my number 1 book! I read this last summer as well and fell in love with it and with the movie coming out I thought that I should refresh my memory (or ruin my emotions after only recovering from reading it the last time!) and so I re-read it before going to see the movie (which I see tonight!) and I can honestly say it still made me cry the second time round which to me shows how good of a book it actually is. If you haven't read or heard of this book then firstly where have you been recently and secondly GO BUY IT that is an order from me to you because it is so good and heart wrenching and beautiful :)

 I am a lover of lip products and when I saw a lot of people recommending this particular lip balm I just had to try it! I'm a bit late on the band wagon but better late than never I suppose! Anyway, this lip butter by Nivea is my new favourite lip balm to put on for just lazy, around the house days and I also put some on before putting on a bright lipstick. It is really moisturising and rich on the lips and makes them really soft and smooth. Also the flavour is incredible and I could honestly just smell the tin all day..

On the topic of me loving lip products, another one the I have just discovered I am obsessed with is the Revlon Colorburst matte lip balms. I only have this one in the colour 'Showy' which is a beautiful bright pink colour. It really is quite bright but honestly with the right make up look it's easy to pull it off. if I can you can too! I will definitely be buying more colours in this product as it is so long lasting and the price, £7.99 isn't too bad considering how amazing the product is! :) I got mine at Boots; http://www.boots.com/en/Revlon-ColorBurst-8482-Matte-Balm_1416281/ (however you can get them at Superdrug, Feel Unique and any other stockists of Revlon)

My last current favourite is a piece of jewelry which has been on trend recently and at first I wasn't really a lover of them but then I found this one from Miss Selfridge and fell in love with how cute it was! I love flowers and the little beads in the middle of each flower really sets it off. The coral pink colour is really nice and matches a lot of my clothes, however there was other colour options and I think I will have to go back and get more of the colours!

I got this choker from the Miss Selfridge shop, and it is also available on their website;http://www.missselfridge.com/en/msuk/product/accessories-299050/jewellery-1917538/necklaces-299214/coral-flower-choker-2920445?refinements=category~%5b267536%7c267535%5d&bi=1&ps=40

That has been most of my current favourites this month, there has been way more but I'll save them for the end of the month! :)

Hope you enjoyed, leave a comment telling me your favourites of the month and I'll more than likely try them out!!

Until next time, Lisa xx

Make Up Look - Birthday Party Meal

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well :)

It was one of my friends 18th Birthday last week and so I decided to show you my make up look for the night. We only went out for a meal to a restaurant and afterwards went around the town so it wasn't anything too fancy or dramatic! Hope you enjoy :)

Here is what I look like before make up. I have moisturized my face beforehand using the Simple Moisturizer. I then prime my face to ensure my make up lats all night using the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. (Brace yourselves for this picture!! )

I start of by doing the base of my make up. For my foundation I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up mixed with a bit of the L'Oreal True Match just to get the perfect colour. Once I have done this I will put the Rimmel Stay Matte powder on top just to ensure that the foundation stays in place. To put on my foundation I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush as I find it blends the make up really well and leaves i looking natural.

After doing my base make up I move on to my eyes. I am the worst at doing my eye make up as I have a really unsteady hand and suck at blending eye shadow! I try my best anyway, so to start I prime my eyelids with the MUA eye primer so that the eye shadow doesn't fall down half way through the night. The make up palette I use for the night was the NYC Individual Eyes blue eyes palette.

I took the pale silver/grey all over my lid and then with the darker lilac I used in my crease and blended it out. With the pale lilac I used it to highlight along my brow bone to define and in the corners of my eyes to highlight and make the eye appear bigger. With the dark grey I used right in the corner of my eyes to define even more. Here is the end result;

To complete my eye make up I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara and the Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Eyeliner to line along the lash line. I also used the Rimmel Professional Eye Brow pencil to fill in and add more colour to my eyebrows as I have sparse spacing in my eyebrows that needs filled in.

Next I move on to finish off my face make up. I conceal my spots and blemishes with the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and a Real Techniques Dome Eye shadow Brush. This concealer gives really good coverage and isn't a highlighter one so it doesn't leave your spots looking shiny and drawing more attention to them. To highlight under my eyes to brighten them up I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer accuse as well as highlighting it covers up dark circles.

I use the Bourjois Powder Delice De Poudre Bronzer as it is really good for obviously bronzing up your complexion as well as defining cheekbones and it also adds a bit of shimmer too. To set all my face make up I use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in translucent. This stuff works miracles! It leaves my skin matte all night long and keeps all my make up in place for ages! :) To extra set my make up I use the Urban Decay setting spray just to ensure that it all stays in place and doesn't rub of by the end of the night :)

To complete my look I put on Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet (I think that's what it is called) This just adds a pop of colour to the overall look and the lip butter is really long lasting and I feel that all the colour range is really wearable and is so affordable :)

Here is the completed look, I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to do more like this in the future :)

This post was very spontaneous and was an excuse to not revise for my exams so if it isn't as detailed as you would like then please let me know for next time as it was rather rushed which I apologize for!

Until next time, Lisa xx

March Favourites

Heeeeeey.

(I always begin with 'Hello again' so I am going for something different!)

Today I will be sharing with you all what my favourite items have been over the month of March. Firstly can I say WOW this year is flying by so quickly I am struggling to keep up -however the school year is nearly up so YAY! There is always a positive!

I have been loving so much this month and trying out lots of new products so I have quite a few to share with you today and hopefully you will feel inspired to try them and love them as much as I do. And of course if you want to, you can share with me what your favourite things of this month were in the comments :)

Side note, this could also be my last post for a little while as I will be focusing on my exams and coursework. So bare with me, I need to pass these exams!

Make Up

As it is now officially Spring I have been bringing back all my old make up favourites again to use in this season. I do this weird cycle thing where I only use certain products in a season and then put them away until next year so now I have to go and find all my last year Spring products so that I can get good use out of them!!

My make up favourites of this month are both base items and they are Rimmel Perfect Match foundation and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Both of these have been my staple for the month of March, they work so well together for a fresh, natural, easy to wear look.

Firstly the foundation I got from a recommendation from my friend who uses it daily and I thought that I might give it a go as I have been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up one for AGES and I wanted to try something new. I find that this foundation is really easy to work into the skin and it looks really natural. I have oily skin and my sister has dry skin and we both use this foundation and it works great for both of us so it is an all round product for every skin type!

The Collection concealer is of course one of those cult beauty classics that basically every beauty guru on YouTube talks about and I couldn't resist the temptation any longer so when I saw it one day when I was out I had to buy it! and I am glad that I did because it is honestly amazing! It covers all my imperfections really well and I have quite a few scars from spots that I picked (EW!) so finding a really full coverage concealer is always really hard and I am never happy until you can't see a single blemish on my face - luckily this concealer does the trick and it was so cheap which surprised me! I think I may have bought a shade too dark for my skin though so I will have to go back and get a shade lighter but for now I am making it work!

Overall, for make up this month I really just tried to get my base perfect for the summer time and I think I have achieved this with these two products :)

Hair:

Recently I have began to notice that my hair is becoming a lot weaker than is usually is, which I put down to be severely damaging it by dying it every 2 months! However I went on a mission to find something to help repair it and make it not look so dry and straw like! I found this 2-in-1 product by Pantene:

It is a shampoo and conditioner which I never really would recommend as I don't believe on product can do both but I think this one is really effective! I have been using it for around the whole month now, for every wash (which is every 2 days) and have found that my hair is in fact becoming shinier and a lot more healthy than before, which is such a relief as I was looking like a scarecrow for a while there..

I would overall really recommend this product if you are finding your hair to be breaking off and looking really dull recently. I wanted to ensure that my hair looked shiny as it is coming into the Summer and I wanted that 'natural glow' look and I think that with continued use I will achieve this!

Skin Care:

My skin has actually been not too bad in terms of break outs recently (It's a miracle I know!) however I am still not satisfied with the blemishes and red scars that I have on my face!! So in an effort to try and use every product possible to find the right one I bought the Origins Clear Improvements Mask.

I use this mask once a week, sometimes twice if I remember to and can be bothered to do it! I hate masks that you have to wash off however I am prepared to do whatever works to clear my skin for good. I find that this mask leaves my skin super baby bum soft after using it and since I have been using it for nearly 2 months now I am defiantly beginning to see an improvement in the colour of the blemishes, they are finally fading away! This product was £22 however I think that for the price of it and the fact it is lasting me a lifetime as you only need a pea size amount each time, it is worth the money!

I would highly recommend this product if you have problems with blemishes. I love relaxing in the bath with music on and this face mask.

Music:

I cannot get enough of listening to 5 Seconds of Summer's EP! It is so perfect it makes me want to cry and eat ice cream every time because I know I will never marry them all. Bigamy at its best.

My favourite song on the EP is Disconnected. It makes me want to dance around my bedroom pretending to be on a beach somewhere (I have no idea ok) but you really need to buy this if you haven't! I have been a fan of 5SOS for a little over 2 years now and they are seriously so kind-hearted, down to earth lovely boys who deserve all the success that they get. Just one thing though THEY NEED TO COME BACK TO HERE SO I CAN SEE YOU ON YOUR OWN TOUR OK THANK YOU (That was needed to be put out there.)

Random:

On March 25th I was lucky enough to go to The Wanted's concert, front row. I actually love The Wanted so flipping much and the fact that they are over now completely heartbreaks me (I could go off in a tangent here but I wont) The concert was seriously one of the best of my life. I went to their last concert as well and had an amazing time so I knew this would be unreal. I think they are all so talented, funny and beautiful boys/men now. 4 years on and I am still their number one fan. Anyway, the concert was so impressively amazing and I can't believe I will never see them again :( Thankfully they gave me the best night of my life, so the memories will last forever. (ok Lisa, stop being so soppy!) Of course I have added the ticket to my wall of ever growing concert ticket collection, it is actually getting ridiculous!! Of course The Vamps were also there on tour with The Wanted who I love as well, seems to be a running theme in this post with boys...hmm anyways. The Vamps were also amazing, it was my second time seeing them live now I just need to see them on their own tour if they would just release tour dates for here that would be great!

I feel that this post was very much boyband oriented (5SOS are not a boyband however..just a band..with boys in it.) Hope you enjoyed my March Favourites.

Leave me a comment what you want to see on this blog, I am always open to feedback :)

Until next time,

Concert Series - Outfit ideas

Hey guys!

So I thought that since 'concert season' is coming up that I would begin a mini concert series on my blog! Every week will be a different topic, such as make up and hair ideas for a concert, tips and tricks for a concert and that sort of stuff. This week I will be showing you various outfit ideas to wear to a concert :) If you are like me and are a professional concert goes ;) then this might be something you are interested in, who knows!

For me, I have 4 concerts coming up within the next few months, so I know that outfit ideas is something that I will be on the look out for in the next few weeks. Hopefully this gives you some inspirations and ideas as to what you could wear to a concert you might be going to, or if you like fashion this might be interesting to you as well! I don't really know, this might be silly but I'll go with it! :P

I will split this into two separate categories - Girly/dressy outfit, more casual/ and comfy outfits. These are the two that I normally would go for, depending on who it is that I am seeing in concert and where the concert is going to be at (e.g outside or at an arena) and also if I am standing or have a seat.

Girly and dressy outfits:

Ok, so if I am going to a concert and I am standing but I want to dress nicely then I would go for something such as a jumpsuit or play suit and then just casual pumps or plimsolls and then glam it up more with my jewelry. Here are some examples;

I thought this outfit would be good as it would be comfortable when you are standing but it still is very feminine and still quite dressy. The flat shoes would suit as if you are standing you normally would be standing in a queue outside the venue for hours (experience!)

  • TIP: If you are standing, I suggest wearing flat shoes that have a strap around the ankle, which means that if you are running to the front they won't fall off!
To add to this outfit, depending on the season you might want to add a light jacket, such as a blazer or even a leather jacket would suit this look as well, if you wanted more of an edge.

If you aren't standing and can brave wearing heels to a concert, then this is a look I would wear;

I really like this dress because of the floral print and I think it looks really pretty and girly, however adding the black accessories to it makes it not too girly. The black platform heels wouldn't be too hard to walk in due to the platform and I think that the ankle strap is important as it means your shoes won't fall off if you are jumping along to a song! The bag is also big enough to hold all you need and I think it is important to take a shoulder bag rather than just a clutch or a big hold-all carry bag as it means you won't set it down and lose it! To add to the outfit, you could put on a black blazer and add some bracelets and other jewelry pieces :) This is defo something I would wear to a concert - only I would find cheaper shoes!! Also, depending on the season, you could add black tights or even skin coloured nude tights to keep your legs warm!

As well as dresses and jumpsuits, girly girls can also wear shorts or skirts to a concert. I would suggest shorts for an outdoor summer concert. Also skirts can be wore both in the summer and winter (if you add tights) Also, very on trend right now (watch me try to be a pro at style!!) is skorts (looks like a skirt but is actually shorts..how clever!) I am loving skorts right now as I think that they look really cool and they are so comfy! Skorts are in most high street shops at the minute, however I am seriously loving River Islands as they have something for every occasion and ones that suit everyone!! So defo check them out if you are looking to invest in a skort for the right price! :)

Casual/ comfy outfits -

Ok, so these outfits are for the girls who like to be comfy and casual at a concert. I think that you don't always need to dress up for a concert, jeans are perfectly acceptable, and lets be honest whoever it is you are going to see won't really care what you are wearing as long as you are there supporting them! :)

So, if you want to wear jeans to a concert, pick your most comfy pair that you know won't fall down when you are jumping along singing!! Here is an outfit that I would wear if I was going to wear jeans to a concert;

I chose a pair of black, high rise skinny jeans as this is most likely what I would wear as it would match a lot of tops. If it was in the summer you could wear mid-wash or bleached jeans as it would be more appropriate. I didn't know what top to pair it with as everyone's style is different so I went with one that I would most likely wear, and it lets the band/singer know that you love them ;) #cringe also I was attracted to the flower print! You could wear a jumper or blouse if you preferred or even a band/singer merch/concert t-shirt! Which is probably what most of the 'fangirls' would want to wear! :D Also by adding the converse it makes it more casual and converse are SO comfortable! If you wanted you could wear vans or any other type of plimsoll style shoe :) Since this was a casual outfit I didn't add any jewelry to the picture, but of course if you wanted to then it would suit perfectly! :)

Lastly, if you wanted to not be as casual by wearing jeans then wearing a nice pair of shorts would also really work when going to a concert, especially if it is an outdoor concert during the summer! :D There are so many options when it comes to shorts, such as denim or leather or other texture (such as glitter!) and you can get any colour of shorts, so just go with whatever you prefer!

I hope this has given you some inspiration for the next concert that you are going to! :) I really enjoyed writing this post and think I am going to make a concert series giving you some tips, my experiences of concerts and hair and make up ideas? If you would be interested in this then let me know! :D

If you made it to the end of this very long blog post then well done, you get a gold star!! :)

Sorry this took me so long to make and that's why I haven't posted in ages!! Also I hope you all are loving the new look of my blog page, it needed spruced up for Spring ;)

Until next time, love and happiness,

Lisa xo

*Disclaimer* I am not a fashion expert, these are just my personal options that I wear to concerts, also I don't know everyone's style so I tried to be general :) **
